Je suis arrivee!

I am writing from my hotel room in Rabat, looking out onto the Parliament Building through the sunny window. After a flight to Paris, a long and chilly layover, and a ride to Rabat next to a baby, we finally touched down in a land of sun and green. The 24 of us - most of us came in on the same flight - were met at the airport with two vans waiting to take us to our hotel. We're here for just one night, but the shower and bed are welcome improvements over air travel! The hotel also has free internet - good to connect with the world after going through the continental time warp.
I'm exhausted, so not going to write too much - just a basic outline of the calendar we received today. From Rabat we are going to Fez tomorrow, staying in a traditional riad hotel one night and then starting classes and meeting our host families the next day. We will be in Fez for 9 days, and then return to Rabat to resume classes here and meet our host families. Interspersed throughout the weeks are day trips to Volubilis, Meknes, etc, and weekend trips to Spain and the desert. Look forward to photos soon!
